Review: Kissin' Tell

Kissin' Tell
Kissin' Tell by Lorelei James

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I know there will be lots of reviews for this story by more professional reviews so I'd like to share what I really loved about this story. Both Tell and Georgia are dealing with baggage from both family stuff and their perception of how they are seen by others. They really have to work to overcome the crap and find out what's worth fighting for. Personal special book moment - when Tell's the one with all the ice cream in his freezer and that 2 of the 4 kinds he has are two of my favorites.

Review: Yours In Mystery

Yours In Mystery
Yours In Mystery by Joanne Locker

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story features several women and their husbands. The wives have a mystery club that is starting to get out of hand. The husbands decide to teach them a lesson. I like the fact that through all of the upset and drama the husbands and wives not only address the problems with the mystery club but they also ending up digger deeper and developing a much better understanding of each others. What could have been a simple story of a humorous payback ends up being a special stories of couples who end up getting a clue about their partners and finding what's been missing in their lives.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Charles is unhappy with the his young bride and knows he needs to take care of it now before things get completely out of hand. This story had lots of interesting aspect to it. Not only does Charles spank Glenna to make his point but he also wants to help her overcome her reluctance to enjoy the marital bed. Charles shows understanding that her upbringing has in a large part brought her to this place and he wants to help her for her own sake not just his own. You can tell that he wants both of them to feel happy and satisfied with each other. I also like the side look into Glenna's parents and realizing that it was things from her mother Pearl's own childhood that added to the problem both women were dealing with. A good reminder that we have to understand where we are coming from to keep from repeating poor choices.

Nanny Dearest by Shawn Bailey

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a cute story of a man who gets what he needs and what he wants all rapped up in one sweet package. What lowered it from a 4 to a 3 for me was all the many little extra threads that it distracted a bit from the main story in my opinion.

I really loved the way the story was written in the 50's style of the PI narrating his own life. It added a lot of fun to the story. It was wonderful to see how much Sly's love gives him the patience to wait for James to be ready to receive all the love he has to give.

Biggs Girl: Caught in the System
Biggs Girl: Caught in the System by Fiona Wilde

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story focuses more on the whole underground age-play system than the personal relationship between Barbie and her "Uncle" Biggs. The concept of a whole system of adult "children" complete with foster care and social workers was interesting to consider. I also like that through the whole experience Barbie really had to again examine her feelings and her willingness to maintain her relationship with Biggs.

Cassie was abandoned by her father and recently her mom died. But she's not alone she has a stepdad that spoils her rotten and three big step-brothers. But she's starting to get out of control and things are changing fast. Some people might be bothered by the relationships that are forming because they are step siblings but the two oldest really didn't grow up with Cassie. Also, when you see the genuine love, care, and concern between her and the two oldest it feels right. How they work everything out is very unique but I really enjoyed the story. I really hope we'll get to hear more about some of the other relationships that are brought up in the final chapter.

Power Play: Awakening
Power Play: Awakening by Rachel Haimowitz

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a very powerful story. As much as I enjoyed the first book I enjoyed this one much more. For me it was the extra emotion and getting see a bit behind the curtain for both men that gives you a better understanding of what has brought both of them to this point in their lives. Also, it was clearer this time that Bran was really getting benefit from the relationship which made it feel more shared and less one sided. Finally, while Bran made the most dramatic changes you get a sense that Jonathan has also grown and become more sure about himself as a dominate as he learns to give as well as take. The last few chapters were just WoW.

I found this story really delightful. Eldon has inherited a problem in the form of his uncle's ward. Eldon doesn't want to deal with Penelope but when he gets a letter that's aimed at running Penelope he has to act fast. What follows is a series of incidents that run from funny to series and somewhere along the way Penelope's Guardian begins to look at the little trouble maker in a whole new way. I had a hard time coming up with the rating. I loved the story. The strong emotions and the coming together was between Dar and Sal was wonderful and sweet. I loved Saria she is such a bright and happy kid. What knocked the rating down for me was all the unfinished business. Will Dar's father rebuild his relationship with his son or will he work against him? Will the ex-wife sue for custody or will they come to an understanding now that she is clean and sober? Since there was no epilogue I really hope there is sequel because I really want more answers.

To The Manor Born by Amanda Dashwood

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I just couldn't seem to get into this one as much as others I've read of this type. It took me awhile to figure out why I just didn't seem to like it as much but I finally figure it out. Poor John is the reason. Not because he's in it just for the spanking and there is no relationship because the blurb is clear about what kind of story this is. The probably is that at times i really wanted to smack John myself. He really isn't a strong male character and that's what I was missing. He seems so wishy-washy about everything is is really being led and manipulated by all the woman. When he takes the led he seems almost cruel and even then you still feel he's looking for the approval somehow. So if you like spanking just for the sake of spanking and don't mind a less than dominate guy this was a great erotic story.

Brianna sees everything she's ever known slip away and Cameron whom she doesn't even like seems to be the only one with an answer to the problem. Forced into marriage she is confused and upset about her not only her growing feeling but her response as well. It helps to remember that this take place in the past so you can understand her feelings. Cameron realizes he has feelings but he doesn't seem to want to let them out either. Those outside the relationship can see what they don't but they are both so stubborn they almost loose out on what they have. This story packs an emotional punch. Also, being a longer story they is no rushing through to get to the end so you can feel the build up in the plot very clearly.
