Review: Island Doctor

Island Doctor Island Doctor by Sue Brown
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First off I love the reference to KC Wells another of my favorite authors. That was so much fun. Jeff has really been trying to make something that really isn't there anymore and its time to make a life in the place he loves. Then Cameron is there and it feels right but there are some bumps in the road and lessons to be learned. They are headed in the right direction but still might need a bit of work.

Lollipop Lollipop by Amy Lane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once again dreams are dreamed and love is found. And because it always seems to happen we have our share of drama from family both good and bad. The best part is how these people continue to support one another. And I love the hints of what might be next.

Review: His Little Lapis

His Little Lapis His Little Lapis by Renee Rose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the series written by a different author. I always enjoy this type of series because each brings their own unique spin to the world that was created. And it's even better when old characters are well represented along with new ones.

Lapis is already embracing her need to be her little self and and while she's been working as a red petticoat she still shows hurt and vulnerability. And it is clear that her care for the mayor's niece is worth risking his wrath to reach out to this child.

The mayor's reactions are natural from his first sighting of Little Lapis, his upset about his niece, and later as he learns Lapis' story and grows to care for her. You can also she is need to protect her as well.

His willingness to risk it all for whole love is heartwarming. This is a wonderful upstanding couple.

Review: Somebody To Love

Somebody To Love Somebody To Love by Shannon West
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I loved the idea of the story. You felt so much for AJ who has denied himself in all ways for so long. I felt uncomfortable with the ambush and felt that Logan was a bit rough when they had been separated for so long. But it seems that at some level AJ does want and perhaps need what Logan offers. But the ending left me feeling a bit sad and dissatisfied. Not sure if this story fits in with the other's I've read in this series so far.

Review: Michael's Heart

Michael's Heart Michael's Heart by Lynn Tyler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

These guys are tough but past family drama cropping up can be the thing that spoils it all. To see how hard Michael has to fight through his past makes you want to give him a hand. I love how their friends do what they can to support both them both as a couple and as individuals.

Review: Signs of Desire

Signs of Desire Signs of Desire by Tempeste O'Riley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really love this series because you get to meet strong men overcoming a variety of life challenges. In this one we see Adrian who is doing a great job of everything in his life but romance. Simon knows a lot about romance but isn't feeling it. A causal dinner sets it all into motion. I really love Simon's commitment to joining Adrian in his world and learning his language. And on the flip side Adrian is stepping out of his comfort zone to experience what is important to Simon. Two wonderful men who make each other better just by being together.

Review: Binding Robbie

Binding Robbie Binding Robbie by A.C. Katt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story moves at a fast pace but as the full picture is revealed you get a sense of why and it fits. Tom is at a place where he's ready to find his sub. Robbie sort of gets dropped into the deep end because of what he needs to recover. It is exciting to see this young man regain his entire life. He needs to reconcile having control of his life and submitting to another. It is wonderful to read the wrap up and see the direction they are headed for.

Review: The Wolf's Gift

The Wolf's Gift The Wolf's Gift by Caitlin Ricci
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

While this is part of the Pine Hallow world this story can stand alone. Throughout the series we've gotten of Evangeline's strength and sass. Yet you have been able to sense that there is more to Evangeline than meets the surface and there is something behind the surface. In The Wolf's Gift we finally have the chance to get below the surface and find out exactly what she's been holding on to. She also has the chance to take the lead, kick a**, and take names. This story was so much fun to ready and it was great to see how this complicated mess seems to be getting straightened out.

Review: Little Secrets

Little Secrets Little Secrets by Allison West
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is another story in the ongoing Ashley series. Ashley is half true finishing school and half training academy to prepare "littles" for their papas. This installment is a bit different than the others I've read so far. Eliza is a little who was brought in by her finance but he called off the wedding so she is left adrift. Charley is an up and coming journalist looking for a school that will give his younger sister the advantages needed to make a good match. He accidentally stumbles on Eliza and is intrigued, curious, and a bit concerned. While it turns right round in the end I didn't feel this one was quite up to a five star rating. Charley is often insensitive using his career to first bully his way in the door in the first place. Then again thinking about his career more than the people who he should be caring about like his sister and his new little Eliza he buts both of them and many others at risk. Also, while I know that no kink has a one true way I was never sure where Eliza really stood in her own feelings. At times she seems to embrace and seek out her little life but the next is really being pushy and aggressive in her relationship with Charley. Like I said it seems to turn out okay and I want the best for both MC's as they define their own relationship I missed the more loving relationship I seek out in an age-play story.

Review: Just Desserts

Just Desserts Just Desserts by Mary Calmes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the final book in the series for me. It is always interesting to read a series with different writers as each brings their own spin to the same simple premise. Once again the secret cookbook strikes again. This time Scot and Boon are the receivers of all the good that comes from trying out the recipes in the book. They not only get their relationship on track but the past is laid to rest as well. Really loved this final story and it was a great one to conclude with.

Review: Dom of Ages

Dom of Ages Dom of Ages by K.C. Wells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love both Eli and Jarod. They first realize their wants and how their other can give them what they desire. But we get to see this superficial beginning start to develop into something deeper. Eli is such a strong dominate and yet he also realizes that he doesn't have all the answers or that he isn't capable of making a misstep. But what I love the most about his developing relationship with his sub is that not only does he push his submission in new ways but he also encourages him to make friendships and develop other relationships that Jarod is never again left feeling isolated or alone. This books reminds us that live is ageless that there is no one true way to be together. Also, as I get older it's fun to read a story with an older character as well.

Review: Date Night

Date Night Date Night by Lynn Tyler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sometimes it's hard to get time to yourself when you are raising a family. As the mom of five I can certainly relate. I love how being a Pack Alpha sometimes means you get to babysit to help others out. And it was great to see Shannon and Grey have a little me time.

Review: The Art of Breathing

The Art of Breathing The Art of Breathing by T.J. Klune
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This time the focus is more on "The Kid" who of course isn't really much of a kid anymore. Like his brother Bear his sometimes spends too much time in his head and can be his own worse enemy. We get to see some of the past events through his eyes as well as live out new experiences. We get to see his own transition from having a friend to wanting more. And again like Bear with Otter it doesn't go all that well at first. We say a more formal goodbye to characters gone and get the chance to meet and greet some new ones. There are some bumps and twists along the way but you still get the message that love is the most important thing and family is who you choose to include in your life and not an accident of birth.

Review: Forgive and Forget

Forgive and Forget Forgive and Forget by Charlie Cochet
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Joe has been nursing a past hurt, not completely without reason, for a while. His whole life is his pie shop and his only family are his employees. But his life takes a dramatic upswing when a battered mystery man shows up in the yard. "Tom" helps to begin to open Joe's heart to possibilities but it also opens up his can of insecurities as well. While this book is full of danger and mystery the quirky cast of characters keeps this story light hearted and fun. There are even some special surprises along the way.

Review: The Perfect Sub

The Perfect Sub The Perfect Sub by Sean Michael
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Both couples are learning to have fun and relax together. Lance and Tide are taking their relationship deeper and learning more ways to share. Bran is trying to be perfect that he neglects himself on his quest to please. Tyrone is caring and committed but it takes a scare to make him really open his eyes to all that is happening in their lives. It feels real to see a Dom make mistakes and go to his friend to get help and advise. We also get to see that no matter how dedicated and wrapped up in his master life a sub is he still needs time to connect with his friends and have their own down time. This books is really about how important all kinds of relationships are and everyone has to keep the lines of communication open.

Review: Accidentally His

Accidentally His Accidentally His by Shawn Lane
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a sweet quick paced story. Kirk has been crushing in his bus mate during the work commute. Elijah is clueless. But crashing into each other changes all that. Once they notice each other they realize it's time to get together. There are still a couple of bumps but the outlook for these too looks pretty good.
