Review: Sleepless Knights

Sleepless Knights
Sleepless Knights by Gale Stanley

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

We I started this one I was really worried that a great couple was going to really mess everything up. Paul doesn't miss his ex but he misses the edge. Andy holds back because he doesn't want to be like the ex. This biggest problem all three have is a lack of communication. Its a good reminder that no matter what type of relationship you are in communication is the key.

Review: Protecting Zoe

Protecting Zoe
Protecting Zoe by Abigail Webster

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Zoe for all appearance is a great big brat and Sam who has been hired by her dad to find out what she's up to is itching to get his hands on her bottom. But things are always what the seem to be and you can feel Sam saying to himself will the "real Zoe please stand up". This story is unique in that it didn't sugar coat the fact that the dad really is an ass. I loved the wrap up at the end of the story as well.

I read this one as a part of a challenge. It was well written and drew me in but I'm unsure if I will read the rest of the series or not. It wasn't really my favorite type of story even though it was well written.

Between Sinners and Saints
Between Sinners and Saints by Marie Sexton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Levi had a don't care attitude because he's upset with his parents. He's been living hard. Jamie has suffered so much and had closed himself off. But as they meet something in each of them reaches out to the other and starts a chain of events that brings changes and healing into both of their lives. this story is strength, emotion, family, and faith. I can't fully put my finger on why but this story touched me deeply.

Wolfsbane by Shannon West

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another great story in this series. This one offers lots of twists and turns as we return to the main pack. Things from the other stories continue to fuse together in the battle against the Hunters. The pets also continue to establish their place in the back. I was so excited to read that there will be more to this series.

Griff's Christmas Angel
Griff's Christmas Angel by Carolyn Faulkner

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bay wanted a strong man and she got one but when her family's needs seemed to clash with Griff's strong convictions that seemed to be the end of the relationship. When she returns 15 years later it takes a lot of convincing to getting them back together. I liked the story but hit didn't quite have the impact that other C. Faulkner books I've read had. I think maybe a epilogue or more wrap up chapter would have make the story seem more finished for me.

Review: Finders, Keepers

Finders, Keepers
Finders, Keepers by Chris Quinton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I felt so bad for Jeff from the beginning of the story. He was clearly upset about the last case, he hasn't had a chance to regroup, and he doesn't really want to scam an innocent by-stander. AND this is all before he even really falls for the guy. What sure have been a simple retrieval turns out to be so much more. Alan has to deal with feeling used. This story is full of tension and really draws the reader into the story.

Review: Lost and Found

Lost and Found
Lost and Found by Breanna Hayse

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow this story has so many intriguing elements. Strange appearance of a young woman who seems to be lost in her childhood yet she is smart and quickly learns. Lance has always been strong and dominate plus he loves to care for others. They seemed made for each other. But there is so much that is unknown. It was interesting to see the relationship and Noelle develop. This ending is sweet and loving despite what is still possible.

Review: Finding Eden

Finding Eden
Finding Eden by Scarlet Blackwell

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sean and Eden have run off together but they seem to take one step forward and two steps back. I really couldn't decide between a 3 or 4 star rating on this one. Not sure why my feelings were so mixed on this story. Was it just the nature of the story and the abuse that brought them this far or the fact that despite being together I'm still not convinced they can really make each other happy in the end.

Review: Clark's Story

Clark's Story
Clark's Story by Diane Adams

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story is really a combination of the tale of Clark and Stevie. This story also starts with now and reflects back. There is so much pain and hurt to overcome on some many levels. The last chapter really hit me hard. I love my kids so much and want them to always know that my door is open and the can share with me and be excepted.

PS I'd love to read about Justin getting his own HEA. For a really minor character I really felt so bad for him.

Perlita's birthday goes from an evening fit for a princess to an evening of terror and fear. Hank is a no nonsense guy who has gotten caught up in her life. It changes the future for both of them. Appleton is out in the back of no-where on his farm which makes him the perfect person to help Gregory with his recovery. He's been out of control since he lost his master and doesn't seem to be accepting it all that well. As the story you progress you get the sense that maybe Tim wasn't the beat all end all that Gregory has built up in his mind. Ap really seems to see Greg for who he truly is deep down inside. Somewhere along the way for Ap it stops being a favor to Oliver and becomes personal. This is a story of pain and healing and the willingness to do the hard work to get there.

Forrest and Hunter had a terrible parting in the past and Hunter seems totally unforgiving. This unforgivingness leads to even more bitterness and a terrible tragic assault. Hunter decides in to care for Forrest and in the course of this care a lot of truths are revealed. I was struck first that in this Hammer story the focus is really more on the emotions and personalities and less on the physical. Forrest also strikes me as being a pretty strong guy under it all to survive his attack and to be willing to even take a chance on a relationship with anyone again especially someone who caused him emotional hurt years ago.
