Review: Coming Out of the Storm

Coming Out of the Storm Coming Out of the Storm by Laura Mathews
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story features two such strong men. Both have been to the edge and back. Billy has lost so much that he doesn't think that he is the same person any more. He's made some questionable choices for income and human contact. Andre is so glad to be out of the sand box and back with his best friend. He is holding the secret of his true love of care inside. I love what brings the crisis point that finally gets both men to speak the truth to each other and start them on the road to a relationship. I am also glad the story didn't just end there but gave us a bit of wrap up of what came next.

Fieldwork Fieldwork by Charles Payseur
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a crazy wild ride this story is. To see Ignacio use what he's always thought of as his "disability" be thing thing that solves the day. I like the it isn't just his shifting that is part of solving the problem but that he is also allowed to show us his brain. Reed is also more than just muscle and he is sure a quick thinker when he needs to be. I really enjoyed this little story.

Review: Always Follow Your Goat

Always Follow Your Goat Always Follow Your Goat by Nora Roth
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In this story being a shifter is really the important part of the story. Noah didn't even know he was a shifter until his teens. We really don't get to know much about Jack other than there is an attraction between the two men and Jack is willing to work to stay in touch.

Review: Alpaca Lies

Alpaca Lies Alpaca Lies by Elizabeth Coldwell
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a sweet story with a very different type of shifter. Alphie hasn't even had a chance to try out his human form but that hasn't kept him of dreaming about his caretaker. Simon when the truth comes out about his boyfriend turns out to be a bit tougher than expected. But with everything going on around them I didn't think it was the best time of Alphie to have his first human encounter. I just felt like things got kind of left up in the air a bit too much for me even in a short Daily Dose story. I would like to have seen them take advantage of the confusion to cover Alphie's absence so the men to could spend some time together.

Review: Missing Piece

Missing Piece Missing Piece by Riina Y.T.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Despite it's length this story didn't feel rushed. Both men are willing to be friends. Neither wants to be responsible for hurting the other one. And when Mattia is at his lowest point Leo doesn't take advantage . In fact Leo is so cautious he almost loses it all for the sake of not pushing. And like in real life people miss the cues and almost stubble upon the truth with each other.

Chords Chords by Taylor Roxton

This story of two different creatures is dark and lustful. Yet despite what it known of the men there is still a sense of hope and possibility. Of Kieran being exactly what he wants to be on his own talent without Brett's help. But also that Brett in small ways may be a better self as well.

This story is a fun action packed adventure. When Marty rubs his Dad's lucky coin he has no idea the wild ride he's about to take on. But Luke isn't quite prepared for Marty's wild driving either. Each worries about using the other one but almost from the start you can see the beginning of caring. It comes as no surprise that each wants to protect the other. And family good and bad seem to be a in the middle of everything else going on. This story was a lot of fun to read.

Review: They Called Him Nightmare

They Called Him Nightmare They Called Him Nightmare by Deja Black
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

While this is a well written story it is not my favorite genre which I know happens when you purchase a set. But I always feel like it gives me a chance to stretch myself as well. For me the main theme of this story is that love is enough and there is love for everyone. Whether that love is in the form of someone that sets all aside to raise a child left to them or the love of lovers who find in each other the perfect match.

Anson's interest in Della seems at first to be related to her health. But we can quickly see that the doctor has feelings. As Della story is told we realize how much she has suffered in her life and what a strong woman she really is.

Anson is also a very strong man and has his own shadows. He is a man that is willing to own up to his mistakes and take responsibility.

I love the fact that Della is willing to take the consequences when she's knows that what she wants is right.

I also love getting to see old friends peak out and say hello throughout this story.
