Review: Last Dance for Cadence, Corbin's Bend #8

Last Dance for Cadence, Corbin's Bend #8
Last Dance for Cadence, Corbin's Bend #8 by Maren Smith

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Again another unique flavor of Corbin's Bend. Candence has had enough and she just wants a break. She's willing to push herself to have a job and stay in Corbin's Bend. Marcus just wants to keep the house running while he works. The is a strong and fast attraction and some really strong emotion in this story.

Review: Leading the Way

Leading the Way
Leading the Way by Constance Masters

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another great Corbin's Ben Installment - In this story Zach and Erin have moved to Corbin's Bend to make life better but Erin seems to be having trouble. And when she makes new friends she almost gets completely out of control. This one was fun because we got to meet more of the community as the focus wasn't as much on the couple as their place in the greater community.

Review: Let It Snow

Let It Snow
Let It Snow by Heidi Cullinan

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Frankie gets stuck in the storm and realizes he's landed in the lair of three bears who he's sure will beat him up. But these bears are a bit friendlier well except for the one he's most interested in. Marcus doesn't want to get burned again and Frankie just seems to hit all his buttons. It was so much fun to see them dance around each other and to show that just being the biggest doesn't always mean being the strongest.

Review: A Simple Misunderstanding

A Simple Misunderstanding
A Simple Misunderstanding by Kathryn R. Blake

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love the fact that the Corbin's Bend series hasn't been afraid to tackle difficult issues. Jerry is the local vet and tries to befriend Elly. But he is concerned about the possibility of abuse. Arthur is not really a head of house hold but an abusive bully. The story is honest about how hard it is for an abuse victim to understand the difference between what they wanted and the reality they have. I love how the whole community rallies around Elly and helps her to feel accepted and ready to move on. She is very brave to be willing to let Jerry be in her life knowing what he wants from a relationship.

Review: Trusting Thomas

Trusting Thomas
Trusting Thomas by K.C. Wells

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second Collars and Cuff's story. While book one is love and relationship built out of sweet innocence the second book takes a decide turn. And yet it is every bit as good and really draws the reader in. The last few years of Peter's life have been dark and abusive but Thomas is there for him. This relationship is very different but no less real.

Review: Exile to Unity

Exile to Unity
Exile to Unity by Tara Finnegan

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Like all the Corbin's Bend stories this one is unique. It explores a family who has come more because they feel despite than a desire to be part of DD community. Angela has been online friends with a member of the community so it seems like a good way to start over. But as the begin to settle in Corbin's Bend their relationship starts to heal and shift. Interesting to watch their transformation as a couple.

Master of Two by Patricia Green

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow, this story is dark and seems so extreme BUT...despite all of that darkness and extreme bdsm there is still such a clear feeling of love that even at the darkness you can feel it shining through. This is an emotional tale and well worth the read.

Review: Piper's Journey

Piper's Journey
Piper's Journey by Breanna Hayse

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

By it's own description this book is a primer on aspects of the lifestyle along with a fun story. And the book delivers on it's description. Along with Piper we learn what is expected and we get to watch her struggle to understanding. Jeoff is steady and loving. The only thing I would have liked was to see a bit more age-play. The meeting seemed like such a great set up but then this is the beginning of a journey so there will more in the future.

Review: An Intoxicating Crush

An Intoxicating Crush
An Intoxicating Crush by E.M. Lynley

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well to be honest I found getting this book read a bit hard. For much of the book Simon really came off as a player and you really weren't sure what was really under the surface. But it's work the effort to keep going. You get to see Simon grow, you find out Austin has a bit of his growth that needs to happen, and you learn that being honest can help avoid a lot of problems.

Hairy Harry's Car Seat
Hairy Harry's Car Seat by Sue Brown

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Interesting to watch Peter and Evan as they developed first their friendship and then their relationship. Also, it seemed that everyone was more comfortable with the progress than Peter was himself. It seems he has the most hangups to work through but he sees Evan as worth it.

That's a Wrap by Liz Borino

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Steve and Zach are faced with yet another round of challenges but yet they seem to be settling in together in the perfect way. They reach out to friends and take on big challenges but the peace between them as a couple is solid and heartwarming. Love their Wrap up. Hope the little tease at the end means another story for this brand new character.
