2021 Reader Statistics

Well I have decided to call a wrap on 2021.  Even if I finish up the book I am reading now I wouldn't get it log in until tomorrow anyway so here is a look at 2021 by the numbers.

My real book totals never match up with my Good Read or Amazon numbers because Amazon only counts those books you got through them and Good Read doesn't count some of the freebies and things you might download through author links but I count them for my total.  I only count actually books so if it is a box set it only counts as one not the total books in the box set.

So all together for both read and listened to is 278 books.

Number of pages is 20, 823

Amount of time is 923 hours and 52 minutes.

I visited 18 states and 5 countries.

I read books from 68 series.

I am now working on my books read ornament.  Next year I will work on it through out the year so it won't be as big a project.

So how does this compare with my 2020 totals.

Total book count went up from 240 so I read or listened to 38 more books.

My page count went down this year from 26,765 for almost 6000 fewer pages.

But my listening time almost doubled from last years numbers of 559 hours and 35 minutes.  This is because I started listening to audio book during my morning walk which adds almost an hour a day.

I visited few states this year with the 24 states last year but the number of countries remained the same.

The number of series was about the same with 65 for 2020.

So what are my reading plans for 2022.  Well I still have lots of Christmas books left to read so I will continue to push through those until MLK Day.  When I will mix them with the series and no holiday romances in my TBR pile.

I figure most of my stats will remain pretty much the same as 2021 since work and things should all remain the same.

Since I mostly read MM genre books I have decided to enter a few of the MM Good Reads groups annual challenges so Title, Author, Character Names, and the 50 states.  We'll see how I do.

More Holiday Reads

His Accidental Christmas Omega (Omega Holidays, #1)His Accidental Christmas Omega by Ava Beringer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love the idea that Shane is drawn to Drew before he even meets him. They fit together and Shane seems to fill needs Drew has. I also like how Drew's feelings are also real and build quickly as well. There are a couple of really cute special moments between these two men.

I think Olivia is really the star of the show and she would be very happy to hear that. Everything starts with her persistence. And she is included in the story all the way through to the end. It shows how caring both of these men are and that they are family oriented. This was a great Christmas story. Like many Christmas tales there is the instant love but it works and makes this another sweet magical Christmas story.

I love the fact that you can see Corey reevaluate his priorities and go from it's all about the job to there are better things to strive for. I also like from the start he was looking out for Brayden. The epilogue is a wonderful way to see how it all wraps up.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Much of this story is about Malachi coming to accept himself and his place in the world both in and out of his building relationship with Logan and Corey. I also like you can see growth in Corey and even more in Logan as they learn to balance their personalities. I also like their friends kind of call them on their long time secret keeping. This story is rich and draws you from beginning to end.
I have been waiting a while for the audio version to be released and I am so glad I waiting. It is well done and was a great way to entertain myself during my morning walks.

Reviews - Enjoying the Holiday Reads

He's Behind You!He's Behind You! by Clare London
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love the way the romance doesn't seem to be the main thing when it really is at the end. Francis came back to help his mom but is realizing that he might want something different. It's hard when you having to rethink everything. This was a fun and sweet Christmas romance with not only the main characters but some others as well.

I loved the premise of this story. Patrick and Nyx are so cute and have so many people routing for them. This story is very sweet with no real angst other than the personal worry kind. I love the way these two get brought together. I am loving this series and can't wait for the next installment.
I listened to the audio version and it was very enjoyable.

It was fun to see these two hit off right away and then have to go back through the whole let's have a relationship thing. I like how their lives can intertwine. The epilogue that wraps things up is a wonderful ending to this Christmas story.

I love this story and it is another great fit for the series. While these two aren't exactly enemies they aren't really friends either. These two get thrown together and sparks fly in both good and bad ways. Aunt Rosie is of course there to stir the pot. I also love the other family drama that ensues. A very fun holiday story.

I listened to the audio version and it was really a great listen.

I had read the short story version at the beginning of the year and enjoyed it so I was excited to read this expanded version and it was as good as I wanted it to be. I love these two men and seeing the story from both POV's really enhanced the experience. Great quick romance.

This is one of those perfect feel good fast building relationship stories that make the holiday fun. These two men bond over a reservation mix up, winter story, and work that needs doing. Stewart is so sweet and determined. Roland steps in to help but it takes him a minute to realize what he really wants or needs in his life. I love the HEA of this holiday story.

This was such a sweet story. It wasn't long but it was full of feels and Chapter 11 was a bit of tear jerker but added the special holiday feel. This was a sweet holiday freebie.

Another great addition to the series. I love the fact that Marcus who is new to the group he is the one to give some very helpful advice to Dylan. It was great to see the relationship develop between him and Mark. I also love how all Dylan's friends just except things.
