My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mitch is helping out his brother in running of the pack they have saved from a terrible leader. Simon has returned to bury his mother and has no idea of the changes. Simon tries to be strong and it was wonderful to seem him relax into himself and learn to trust Mitch and the pack as it is now. I love how they were really fated for each other.

Review: Priceless

Priceless
Priceless by Cat Grant

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story is powerful and disturbing. The most disturbing thing is that it seems to totally real and possible. It hurts to think how many of are smartest young people are having to put themselves at risk to try and obtain their dreams and how condemned by others they must feel. This story has lots of dark and painful issues I'm so thankful that Conner was willing to put his feelings first not just in acceptance but to be willing be patient and not give up on love.

Update 02/28/2015- decided to reread so I could read the whole series. Enjoyed the story every bit as much this time as I did the first time I read it.

Review: McFarland's Farm

McFarland's Farm
McFarland's Farm by Cardeno C.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It's always amusing to see two people who crush on each other make so many assumptions why it is one sided. I think Lucas still needs to do some growing up as far as really listening to what his dad is saying and not jumping to conclusions. But Jared seems to provide a great balance and they have a lot to give each other.

Review: The Purest of Intentions

The Purest of Intentions
The Purest of Intentions by Shawn Bailey

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Alexis is talented, kind, and generous. Madison is a single dad but also smart and talented. It was interesting to watch Madison learn to be truly comfortable in his own skin. As often happens he was way more worried about what his kid would think than was necessary. I love Scotty's simple answers to all his dad's angst.

I love how the story opens with the young Callen hearing the legend from his mom. Then to how it plays out 24 years later. Both Quinn and Tess are strong in their own ways. Quinn is the balance Tess needs. Fate brings them together but they still need to make it work.

Review: A Perfect Kind of Love

A Perfect Kind of Love
A Perfect Kind of Love by Elizabeth McKay

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story opens with Jamie in trouble. The story has short glimpes of now as she reflects on all that brought her to the place she's in right now. Dan and Jamie seem to be perfect for each other filling that missing spot in the other one's life. Even though she has a sad upbringing she still ends up doing pretty well. The side topic of her friendship with Crystal is also great to read and really adds to the overall warmth of the story.

Review: Becoming Lil' Mandy

Becoming Lil' Mandy
Becoming Lil' Mandy by Elsa Black

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a modern story with a Victorian feel. Amanda is in trouble and all alone. The Eden project is really her only hope. While there is a bit of dubious consent because really what choice does she have it still from the beginning has the feel that everything is really for her best interest. Ethan really seems to have feelings for her from the beginning and is willing to do what ever is best for her to help her be a better person. I love how their relationship develops and how she is allowed to explore who she is and remain safe. It seems that there are more stories lurking at the Eden project and hope they develop.

Review: Harmony's Golden Chain

Harmony's Golden Chain
Harmony's Golden Chain by Frances Lucette

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This story has a little bit of everything either straight out or hinted at. Harmony and Abelard are the center of a very kinky family. They are a work in progress as they continue to figure out the best way to satisfy all their needs. As the story comes to a close their are still exploring. This story is well written but a few of the elements made me feel a bit squeamish therefore the 3 rating.

Poor Jem is cursed by Karma. What a great way to begin the story. The story unfolds to just prove Jem's point. Now Nick is in his life and has to keep him out of trouble long enough for the curse to run it's course. Lots of drama with a touch of humor.

Review: A Hard Habit To Break

A Hard Habit To Break
A Hard Habit To Break by K.C. Kendricks

Dirty Dining
Dirty Dining by E.M. Lynley

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jeremey takes a chance on a new job and runs into Brice who visiting for the first time. There is a connection but it's all kinds of complicated. What I found interesting in the story is the stuff they seem to have no trouble accepting and the kinds of things that really trip them up. And I won't give it away but I love the dramatic scene at the club.

3 Mannies: Gay Romance Box Set
3 Mannies: Gay Romance Box Set by Trina Solet

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A collection of three different stories with a common theme around hiring a manny. Each story is unique and has it's own elements. Sometimes these are presented with a done deal, are hiring based on interest, or pushed because of a great recommendation. Some of the stories move slowing and others speed to the bed and then move to relationship. But each of the stories are fun to read and some are really heartwarming.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jonesy is a caring a loving person and he feels something from the minute Michael is brought into the hospital. He seems to feel the need care for this man. Despite the coma there is a part of Michael that is touched by Jonesy's love. I love that the story doesn't end with a wake up kiss but allows us to see them continue to love and grow together. This story will require reading with a tissue handy.

Review: A Brush of Violet

A Brush of Violet
A Brush of Violet by Corinne Alexander

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A visit to Corbin's Bend brings back old longings for Violet. It was a desire she had buried because she felt she needed to push herself career wise. It was great to see her let loose and explore those feelings. She has to silence her mother's voice in her head so that she is free to listen to her own voice. I love that she can be strong and pursue her own life while becoming a part of someone else's life at the same time. She doesn't have to make and either or decision.
