Review: City Mouse
City Mouse by Amy Lane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
We are back with the ongoing relationship with Malcom and Owen. Malcom is so up tight and is very good at being self defeating. Owen gets that things take time but he almost reaches the end of him limit as well. I love Owen's mom and her six week theory.

Review: Torn
Torn by Shawn Bailey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Sam is in trouble and pressured by Tony to support him in not so good ways. As a way of saving himself he offers to service Justin just to get out of there. I like the fact that although Justin agrees to take him up on his offer he doesn't take advantage. I thought the story was headed one way and was pleasantly surprised at how it turned out.

Review: My House, My Rules
My House, My Rules by Constance Masters
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is a great story. Alex is lost her husband and has been raising her two boys by herself. She has been letting things slip because it had been so hard to cope. But when the new neighbor finds the boys swimming in his pool some changes are in order. I love how Jay let's Alex know what he's all about from the very beginning. The wonderful forming of a family.

This story was very different than what I expected. There are so many layers to Anna's story. I don't want to say any more because I don't want to spoil anything.

Review: The Alpha's Concubine
The Alpha's Concubine by Shannon West
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I love that this mixes drama and humor. When Nikolai finds his mate his mate is also capturing him. Watching them come together is cute. When pride and misunderstandings come up you wonder if they will make it through. But saving the day does help open up the lines of communication.

Review: Taught to Kneel
Taught to Kneel by Natasha Knight
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Gabrielle is on vacation but happy. Julian is also on his own. I think one of the interesting thing in this story is that it was the wife who cheated. Both Gabrielle herself and Julian's husband. He feels that he knows what she needs and what he didn't give his own wife. I love that both recognized that this was temporary because they were going home but the possibility for more was left open and on the table.

Review: Diving in Deep
Diving in Deep by K.A. Mitchell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Cam loves his job and his footloose lifestyle. Noah had never forgotten his first crush on his big brother's best friend. When you find out Cam was also his first lover and he just walked out on the guy you start to think Noah should just forget him. Work brings them together and what follows is months of on and off again romance. Frankly, I was ready to smack both of them around. But it was fun to watch them finally get it together.

Review: The Healing of Idrys
The Healing of Idrys by T.N. Tarrant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Idrys' story is so full of conflict. It was an emotional book to read. For someone to be so stunted by the actions of their parents and the betrayal of a sibling. I think the neatest thing was Hadrain's external reaction was to send his parents flowers because he suddenly realized how very lucky he was. Reilly is such a strong guy he'd been through so much personally and yet had so much to give. The three of them just really compliment one another and even though you didn't get to see I'm sure Hadrain's parents will end up loving on all of them.

Review: Trial by Partnership
Trial by Partnership by S.K. Fero
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
When Kami lost her husband she begins to find herself again. But that also leads to her butting heads with her husbands friend and business partner Reid. Reid is used to be in charge but has always had a bit of a crush on Kami. He also has a preconceived idea of who she is based on her actions during her marriage. Guilt, confusion, and misunderstanding almost destroy any chance they have to build a new relationship but with the help of some friends they have a chance to finally get it all together.

Review: Rescue Me
Rescue Me by Sean Michael
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This one is really more a one night stand without much story and no relationship. Dixon is a fireman and runs into Rob who was the victim in a fire he fought earlier that day. I guess both guess end up happy with the experience but frankly Dixon is a bit to smug for me.

Review: What You See Isn't Always What You Get
What You See Isn't Always What You Get by Faith Ashlin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
It took me a few days to get through this one. It was so intense that I ended up reading a couple of shorter books in between. This story is powerful and so many levels. Both main characters have such strength but have so much to overcome. Very masterful writing job.

Review: Family Matters

Four very different family stories from light-hearted to tragic. This is death and neglect. There is fighting and making peace. And of course lots of falling in love. Great anthology where every story is long and fully involved.

Review: Alphabet Soup
Alphabet Soup by C.B. Conwy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Andy thinks he knows what he needs as a sub but the KC shows up and shatters all of his beliefs. KC pushes for the truth and when it all comes out now they can work at healing and moving on. I like that Jack was a good concerned friend and isn't afraid to check on Andy and let KC know he has his eye on him. I loved watching the living care KC gives to Andy. It was beautiful to see their developing relationship.

Review: Screwing the System
Screwing the System by Josephine Myles
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Cosmo is happy on the dole and is good at blowing job interviews. Or he is until he meets his match in Alasdair. Alasdair calls BS on his whole act and challenges Cosmo to strive for more in lots of different ways. The story feels real because no one is perfect but they work well with each other.

Review: Honeymoon Cottage
Honeymoon Cottage by Matt Brooks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I will date myself but part of the appeal in getting this book is that it is set in 1962 the same year I was born. I had no idea what to expect. Dale is young but on his own since his family kicked him out. He meets Rey and feels attracted but Rey wants to be caution and careful. I liked the way that the story builds slowly and doesn't feel the need to rush to the end. I loved Rey's family and how caring they were for those they had come to care about. It's a good reminder that men loving each other is not a new thing but how much more cautious they men had to be and they little ways they could communicate without words.

Review: Most Wanted
Most Wanted by Shannon West
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
There are some really interesting components to this story so it could appeal to lots of people. We have our m/m story line. Then we add a shifter or two. We top that with said shifter being from another planet. Then we set it in the future and add a murder mystery. It might seem to be too many threads but Shannon West does a great job of pulling all the elements together into a great story with just enough wit and humor to make these guys seem "real". Great start of a new series.

Review: Bad Moon on the Rise
Bad Moon on the Rise by Shannon West
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
New challenges and threats have surfaced for the Dark Hollow pack. This time we get to meet Tucker who is a natural pet but has no idea who or what he is. As a law enforcement officer he doesn't really seem the subby type at all. When he ends up the mate of alpha Gavin they both have a lot of adjusting to do. It's great to see those subs standing up and taking care of themselves again.

Review: Life After my Unfortunate Demise
Life After my Unfortunate Demise by Edward Kendrick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This a love story with a twist. In this short tale you meet Mark trying to explain life after death to the newly dead Dixon. Seems they have more in common than just being murdered in the same office building. Throw in a talking cat and you get a story that make the after life seem like a bit of fun.

Review: Lucy's Checkup & Baby Sara
Lucy's Checkup & Baby Sara by Darla Phelps
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I liked both stories. The first story is stricter and involves an established couple. I really enjoyed the second story Baby Sara the most. Here is a young woman coming to terms with her wants and needs. She is at the start of the journey. I would love to read more about Baby Sara.

Review: Master Knight
Master Knight by Gray Dixon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
What a great new series. Marcus has been burned a bit in the past and while he's open to a new relationship he doesn't think his dream girl really exists. And then there she is. Khari has had some dark fantasy and now they seem to be coming true. Both are developing feelings that neither has expressed so when a misunderstanding happens it almost derails the whole thing. Both have to be brave enough to try again. I can't wait to read the story about the rest of the guys.

Review: The Maker Jock
The Maker Jock by S.A. McAuley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Alex is feeling overwhelmed with his big project. His brother and his boyfriend hook him up with Christian. Christian turns out to be just what he needs as long as he doesn't mess things up. It was cute to see Alex move back and forth between being confident and a messed up anxious mess. I loved the scene at the Maker contest.

Review: The Florist
The Florist by Serena Yates
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Dylan's friend dies and leave him the floral shop. After he takes over the shop he discovers that there is something strange going on. He has also meets Sean another lawyer in the office and they begin to form a relationship. My only complaint of this book it the time jump between the last two chapters almost made it feel like there was a missing chapter. We went from finding out what was happening to it being all rapped up.

Review: Taking the Gardener
Taking the Gardener by T.J. Masters
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Eric has been through a lot lately and decides some time in the country will allow him to find some peace. What he finds is a hot little gardener. But Tom has a girl friend and life in the country. Eric decides to go ahead a play anyway but when his emotions become entangled he's not sure what to do. Finally, he decides to be noble and leave Tom behind. Good thing some people are even more stubborn that he is. I loved the supporting character of Tom's girl friend Megan and Eric's housekeeper Mrs. P. T.J. does just a good a job of making them real as the main characters. And while we only get a glimpse of Megan's dad he's pretty cool too.
