January 1-7, 2024

Wow a new year and more books.  Still working on those Christmas stories.  Also, the last push for the Coastal Magic Reading Challenge.

Jace's Secret: A Little ChristmasJace's Secret: A Little Christmas by Jamie Kassel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I had mixed feelings on this story. Sometimes it felt harsh or abrupt when they were interacting with each other. Yet it does have a happy ending.

These two seem an unlikely pair but sometimes things aren’t that simple. I loved seeing Jared denying what he’s feeling. I really like the ending of the story.

This is a great second chance friends to lover story. I loved how it started with a mis-delivered package. They were so well suited for each other.

Walker and Ajay’s first encounter isn’t the best start but I like how Ajay’s personality gets Walker thinking about making changes on his lilfe. I think this makes the rest of the story flow well.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story is about all the trouble you can get into when you start a relationship with a famous person and you don’t even know who they are. I like the genuine feeling but you can also see the complications to come. I like that the book had a good solid conclusion that makes sense for their personalities. #CMCon24

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I like the feel of the building relationship between Marco and Lassiter. We see how Lassiter is protecting his heart but the attraction is already there ready to built on. I like the gentle forward motion of their relationship. The ending was so sweet. Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I like the simple way they each found out that their neighbor was into the same kink as them. Dash is so brave to do the asking first. The rest of the story just moves gently forward. I also like the sweet recaptured magic of Christmas.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story has a lot of drama surrounding Royce and his battle with his father. And as someone who has spent my whole life in Florida I can see this scenario could actually happen. I like how even though things are tough and complicated Quinn doesn’t give up and is willing to wait.
